Mørk rubinrød farve. Kirsebær, peber og krydderier i næsen. Fyldig, meget klassisk opbygget, meget tanninholdig og ekspansiv i munden. Lækker og fornøjelig tidligt på trods af sin kraft.

Excellent harmony of full body, moderately dry tannins and richness. The red fruits are now beautifully developed and there's just a hint of tar. A grenache-based blend that was matured completely in large oak foudre casks. Drink or hold.

Guigal's 2018 Chateauneuf du Pape may have the potential to eclipse the 2016, which is saying something. The normally quiet Marcel Guigal offered his one-word opinion on it: "Serieux." It's full-bodied, rich and chocolaty, but that ripeness is balanced by ample freshness and bright raspberry fruit. The plush, velvety mouthfeel adds another layer of hedonism. 91-94/100

Lastly, the 2018 Châteauneuf-du-Pape is another beauty in the making. Lots of strawberry and blackberry fruit, notes of garrigue, peppery herbs, and earth, medium to full-bodied richness, and silky tannins all make for a terrific 2018 that’s going to drink nicely right out of the gate yet evolve positively for 8-10 years.
