With its exotic fruit, spicy and delicate oak aromas, this wine lies at the edge of the Chateauneuf radar screen, but in the most positive sense. As much richness as it has drive, an almost supernatural energy pushes this across the palate and through the long, silky finish at a very brisk clip. A blend of 70% mourvedre, 20% grenache and 10% syrah. From biodynamically grown grapes with Demeter certification. Drink or hold. 97/100

The 2020 Châteauneuf Du Pape La Part Des Anges is more modern in style, with some toasty, spicy notes, but it has incredible purity in its darker cassis fruits as well as cured meats, pepper, and gamey nuances. Rich, medium to full-bodied, and concentrated, it’s easily my favorite in the lineup today. It should have 15+ years of longevity. 95/100
