From ancient rootstock grafted in 1996 with Dijon clone 667, the 2021 Oppenheim Kreuz Spätburgunder GG opens with a clear, generous and slightly toasty cherry and red berry bouquet that is pretty Burgundian in its finesse and juicy ripeness. Juicy and intense on the palate, this is a full-bodied and powerful yet refined and vibrantly fresh Pinot with crystalline, mouthwatering acidity and a long, aromatic finish. Superb again. 13% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted at the domaine in July 2023. 94/100
