Heiner Lobenberg om:
Chateau Clerc Milon Rothschild 5eme Cru 2021

93–95+
/100

Meget klassisk, meget Cabernet i 2021. Sort peber, dyb mørk, trækul. Peberagtig i munden, chilikrydret, meget klassisk.

The 2021 Clerc Milon is another fine effort from the chateau. It offers an alluring mix of fruit raciness and savory character from the Cabernets. Grilled herbs, graphite, mint, lavender and leather add layers of nuance. The long, persistent finish is a thing of beauty. Clerc Milon has been on the rise of late. 94/100

Jane Anson om: Chateau Clerc Milon Rothschild 5eme Cru

This is one of the few that has really grown into itself in bottle, taken the next step that not many have achieved over ageing. Bitter chocolate, cocoa bean, liqourice, pencil lead, crayon, then with a whisper of cassis and violet, this is channeling a very strong Pauillac character, leaning into the appellation, defintely one to look out for. Maybe wait for 5 years to drink this instead of 10 for usual, but this has a good 15 to 20 years in it, and there is a ton of potential. An upscore. Caroline Artaud technical director as of this vintage. 55% new oak for ageing. 94/100

Revue du Vin de France om: Chateau Clerc Milon Rothschild 5eme Cru

Pleanty of volume on a palate that has a rich feel to it. Full-bodied and with everything in place, including flavours of black fruit and an intense, persistent finish. 93-95/100

Decanter om: Chateau Clerc Milon Rothschild 5eme Cru

Bramble and hedgerow notes, some smoke, tobacco, chocolate, liquorice-laced black fruits and graphite on the nose. Seriously captivating with the complexity continuing on the palate, comprising coffee, cedar, clove and cinnamon alongside plump and plush layers of succulent and concentrated blackcurrant and black cherry fruit and racy acidity. The 59% Cabernet Sauvignon influence is in sharp focus, right to the fore, wanting all the attention, but at the same time this has a beautiful and generous fragrance to it from 10% Cabernet Franc. Refined and elegant, I love the presentation and the structure, giving such length and freshness on the long finish. An excellent Clerc this year and really stands out. 1.5% Camenère and 1.5 Petit Verdot complete the blend. 3.73pH. 93/100

Tim Atkin om: Chateau Clerc Milon Rothschild 5eme Cru

Deep spicy cedary oak aromas with coffee bean, liquorice and plenty of tight black fruit. Dense and alluring aroma. Rounded rich palate with juicy fruit, plenty of tannins and fresh acidity, but the greenness went into the second wine and it shows. Rich and rounded finish. Plenty of cedary Pauillac character. Very lovely. 93/100

Parker om: Chateau Clerc Milon Rothschild 5eme Cru

The 2021 Clerc Milon is a success, bursting with aromas of blackberries, cassis and plums mingled with violets, tobacco leaf and nicely integrated new oak. Medium to full-bodied, layered and seamless, it's deep, fleshy and complete, with a rich core of succulent fruit, beautifully polished tannins and a long, sapid finish, it's a compelling, characterful wine that transcends the vintage. 92-94/100

Jeff Leve om: Chateau Clerc Milon Rothschild 5eme Cru

You already find tobacco leaf, espresso, black plum, cigar box, and currants on the nose. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied, fresh, elegant, and polished. There is a fabulous sense of purity, gentleness in the tannins, and a slight, savory edge in the finish that accompanies all those ripe berries. This is so good now, It is going to be quite easy to enjoy in its youth. The wine blends 59% Cabernet Sauvignon, 28% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc, 1.5% Petit Verdot and 1.5% Carmenere, 13% ABV. Drink from 2024-2045. 92-94/100
