Vinen er tilbage i En Primeur i 2022. 80 procent Grenache, 19 procent Cariñena og en procent hvide druer. Utrolig fin i næsen. Mørke frugter med lyse røde frugter, med let lakrids og lidt hvid chokolade. Fra Cariñena kommer der lidt rustikt, grafittungt Garrigue-krydderi. I munden har vinen ret meget greb, Cariñena dominerer klart Grenache. Meget bid, meget sort krydderi, men også salt, plus intens let lakrids. Noget af en krakker med en masse garrigue, en masse grafit. God længde - spændende vin! 94-95+/100 *** Vinen kommer fra 13 forskellige små vinmarker på omkring 300 til 400 meter over havets overflade omkring Gratallops. Det er derfor en landsbyvin. Vinstokkene vokser udelukkende på grøn og rødbrun skifer. Vinmarkerne er mellem 23 og 79 år gamle. Vinen har 14 procent alkohol i volumen. Den er produceret økologisk. I kælderen afstilkes 50 procent af vinen. Mosten gæres derefter i åbne 2000 og 3000 liters trætanke. Den malolaktiske gæring finder sted i 600-liters demi-muids, hvorefter vinen omstikkes og lægges i ovale 2200-liters træfade og syv måneder senere i betonfade. I varme, tørre år tappes vinen på flaske efter kun et år.

Årsrapporten

Den enestående årgang 2022 betragtes i Spanien som en historisk milepæl. På trods af rekordvarme imponerer vinene takket være kølige sommernætter med forbløffende lave pH-værdier, spektakulær syrefreshhed og silkeagtige tanniner – en storslået, perfekt afbalanceret tæthed på højde med den store Bordeaux-årgang.

Increasingly more Garnacha focused every year (80% in 2022), this is a floral, bright style of wine that comes in at a restrained 14% ABV. Ripe, bright cherry and strawberry fruit, white pepper and sappy herbs, with amazingly powdery tannins and refreshing acidity. One of their best Vi de Vilas to date! 2024-2034 94/100

This village wine is an aromatic red with red berries and a mineral twist. Elegant and firm on the palate, with lightly chewy tannins that still manage to dissolve. There is a sort of red-fruit elegance that rivals a fine pinot, but it is the Mediterranean garnacha that dominates. Drink or hold.

This wine becomes softer and more elegant with every passing vintage. Floral, bright and a manageable 14% alcohol. Ripe red fruits, sappy herbs, violets and a touch of warm earth – lovely. Powdery and soft but not lacking drive. A very impressive Vi de Vila. Practising organic.

Parker om: Gratallops Vi de Vila

The 2022 Gratallops is a village wine, 'vi de vila' in the Catalan language, which is the official category from the Priorat appellation. The wine shows the ancestral mix of local varieties, which this year is 80% Garnacha, 19% Cariñena and 1% white grapes, Garnacha Blanca, Macabeo and Pedro Ximénez from different vineyards in the village. Like the rest of the wines, it fermented with part of full clusters and indigenous yeasts in oak vats, with punching down and, in this case, a maceration of 31 days. The wine will mature in oval foudres and large oak barrels for 14 months. It's pale, bright, very clean, expressive and elegant, with a great sense of harmony, contained ripeness and a medium-bodied palate with very fine tannins and a surprising sense of harmony, perhaps not super complex or deep but with a silky texture that makes it very attractive. It has 14% alcohol and a pH of 3.52 with 4.61 grams of acidity. They expect to produce around 21,000 bottles in March 2024.
