Champagne Les Bien Aimees Brut Nature
Bourgeois-Diaz's 2018 Les Bien Aimées, sourced from a 0.8-hectare, south-facing parcel planted with Pinot Noir in 1983 on clay-limestone soils, has preserved considerable freshness despite the maturity typically associated with both the site and the growing season. Vinified in oak casks, aged under cork and disgorged without dosage in July 2024, it reveals an expressive bouquet of orange zest, dried raspberry and nashi pear. On the palate, it is full-bodied and ample, fleshy and textural, with a generous, vinous core of fruit, supported by ripe but vibrant acidity and culminating in a long and enveloping finish. While undeniably powerful, it remains controlled, avoiding the excesses that 2018 often produced on sun-exposed slopes such as these.
