Lobenberg: Smukke modne sorte kirsebær i næsen. Eukalyptus og mynte nedenunder. Sort, mørk chokolade uden bitterhed. Fin, meget afbalanceret. Klart slankere i munden. Lidt tør. God kompleksitet og meget fin. Samlet set med et godt indtryk. En mere end fin Margaux, men den har simpelthen for meget konkurrence i den øverste liga, derfor øvre midterfelt med forbindelse til toppen.

-- IWR: The 2016 Château Cantenac Brown is another absolutely brilliant release from José Sanfins. Composed of predominately Cabernet Sauvignon with the remainder Merlot and a dash of Cabernet Franc, this opens to fresh inviting aromas of red currants, cassis, spices, florals and licorice nuances all talking shape in the glass. On the palate this is medium-bodied with gorgeous velvety texture and wonderful overall balance and focus through the finish. Classy and sophisticated, this elegant Margaux should continue to evolve beautifully for years to come. 95/100

I 1754 købte Jacques Boyd (husk Boyd Cantenac!), en irsk emigrant, disse vinmarker. I 1806 giftede John Lewis Brown (ejer af Château Brown i Pessac) sig ind i Boyd-familien, og hans søn blev senere en meget berømt kunstner i regionen.
