This is so deep and complex with a great combination of brioche, dashi and candied-lemon character with a level of concentration and depth that are rare in sparkling wines, regardless of region of origin. Bold and generous on the front palate, then the mineral freshness comes charging through, supported by a lively mousse and lifts you up in the direction of the heavens. From biodynamically grown grapes with Demeter certification. Drink now. 96/100

Disgorged in April 2019, the newest version of the 2012 Crémant d’Alsace Clos Liebenberg (L1282) remains a bone-dry sparkling wine from the family's monopole, an extension of the "grand cru" Pfingstberg. Assembling 90% Auxerrois and 10% Riesling and disgorged without dosage, this remains a favorite sparkling wine of mine due its lightness, purity and sustainable complexity. The Clos Liebenberg is the combination of precision, freshness, finesse and oxidation. It is linear and pure, dry and crisp, revealing lovely grip and a long and delicate but also complex and salty finish. It's a very mineral and tensioned and, yes, refreshing and lifting sparkling wine to have as an aperitif or with any fish dish. Tasted in May 2020. 95/100

The Clos Liebenberg, monopoly of the Winery, is an extremly quiet place, separeted from the other plots surrounding it by wales, hedges and trees. Crémant coming from this place are one of the two “Terroir” sparkling wine we produce. It is a blend of 90% of Pinot Auxerrois and 10% of Riesling, all coming from the same place. It is a gastronomical Crémant that has spent up to 5 years on latte before being disgorged as a Brut Zéro. No sulfur was used either, in order to keep it as pure and as expressive from it Terroir as possible.
