Wow, 2024 hvid, det er noget! Meget frugtagtig næse med stor ligefremhed. Hvid stenfrugt med citrongræs i næsen. Meget rent defineret, med et lille spor af træ ved siden af. Ekstremt elegant! Overraskende slank i munden, ikke i nærheden af Domaine de Chevaliers overdådighed, hvilket ikke er, hvad den ønsker stilistisk. God længde, slank, fin smag. En smart, velsmagende hvidvin uden endelig storhed. Hvidvinene fra Médoc som Du Retout og Doyac kom klart bedre ud af det, og det samme gjorde Bordeaux byområde. Indtil videre er den førende i Pessac Domaine de Chevalier, lad os vente på Smith. Denne Malartic er meget god, men ikke fantastisk, men en stor saftig drikkeglæde. ***. Bestemt en af de mest fashionable hvidvine fra Pessac Léognan i de sidste 10 år. Men så eksploderede prisen desværre så meget, at joken er lidt ude af den. Ikke desto mindre altid et højdepunkt her.

Bright yellow colour with green hue. Rich nose with aroma reminiscent of boxwood, fresh lemon peel, grapefruit zest, aromatic herbs, starfruit and hints of Wisteria. Pithy lemon, orange rind, peach flesh, gooseberry, floral and some mineral touches - oyster, sea spray and salty aspects too. Round and filling, this has an excellent texture and weight in the mouth - almost honeyed in texture but then with a lean and sharp core which is more citrus and soft tropical elements - passionfruit with firm, grippy salty sides. There’s lots going on here. Mouthwatering, vibrant with tension and energy. What it lacks in richness it makes up in flavour complexity. Just lovely. Well expressed with great bitter touches. Already good to drink but should grow a little over ageing then be very enjoyable. Really very good. Whites harvested in good conditions with excellent yields. Ageing 40% new oak. 3.28pH.

The 2024 Malartic-Lagravière Blanc is superb. Vivid and expressive in the glass, with super balance, the Blanc is a delight. Lemon confit, mint, sage, chalk and light oak inflections build effortlessly. Lees-stirring builds texture. All the elements are so well balanced. Malartic-Lagravière Blanc is a highlight in 2024. Tasted two times.
