Næsen er helt på hyldebær med så meget mynte og lakrids. Viser æterisk friskhed. Også noget grafit med cassis. Meget elegant i munden, slank med en god finish. Strålende friskhed med lette blåbærnoter. I munden med god længde og fine tanniner. Disse tanniner er stadig lidt hårde i eftersmagen, men vil helt sikkert integrere sig godt i løbet af de næste fem til ti år. Ikke en stor, men bestemt en klassisk Pauillac.

Dark purple colour with violet hue and black core. Aromatic nose with slightly balmy character, mild spices, ripe dark berries and black cherries. hints of aromatic herbs in the background. On the palate well structured with ripe tannins, subtle oak, elegant toasting and fine fruit, very good length. Tastingbook.com

Galloni om: Chateau Haut Batailley 5eme Cru

The 2024 Haut-Batailley races across the palate with masses of dark fruit, menthol, licorice, espresso and dried herbs. Floral overtones reappear on the finish, adding a refined touch. Powerful yet polished, the 2024 is quite impressive. This feels a bit less extracted than the first vintages under the leadership of the Cazes family, not a bad thing at all in my view. Very fine. Tasted two times.

A bright and slightly spicy Pauillac led by vivid acidity and a touch of peppercorns. Red berries and cherries with juicy fruit and medium to full body. Tannins are firm and quite fine-grained. Long but not dense at the end. 68% cabernet sauvignon, 26% merlot and 6% petit verdot. 12.9% alcohol.

Creme de cassis, cigar wrappers, flowers, and cherries fill the perfume. The palate is fresh, lively, medium-bodied, and frankly, best described as charming, with its early, drinking, vibrant character. It is interesting to note this is the 100th vintage for the Casteja family. The bottles will feature a special label, and buyers can order the wine in limited edition, 2.25 liter bottles. The wine is a blend of 81% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Merlot, and 4% Petit Verdot. 13.5% ABV. Harvesting took place September 2 - October 8. Drink from 2029-2045.
