Riesling Abtsberg Großes Gewächs
The 2018 Maximin Grünhaus Abtsberg GG is part of the Schlosskeller Reserve that the von Schubert family released last year to compensate for the dramatic losses to spring frost in 2024. The wine shows a clear, precise, flinty as well as floral bouquet with intense white peach and apricot aromas and notes of broken slate rocks. Filigreed in its intensity and generous fruit texture, this is a fascinatingly crystalline and saline Abtsberg that shoulders its richness perfectly well and even uplifts it. The wine is almost too young to drink now but indicates great aging potential. This is an exceptional Abtsberg to have with food, white meat or even game, if the wine is just old enough. 13% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted at the domaine in January 2026.
