The 2017 Maximin Grünhaus Abtsberg GG is another Ruwer Riesling classic that intermingles perfect fruit (and wine) maturity with flinty notes of crushed slate and the typical Ruwer finesse and delicacy. Filigreed yet textured on the palate, this is an elegant, very intense yet also energetic, vibrantly fresh or "mineral" Abtsberg with a long, intense and aromatic finish. It's gorgeous and perfect to drink now. This is part of the Schlosskeller Reserve that the von Schubert family released last year to compensate for the dramatic losses to spring frost in 2024. I rate the wine significantly higher than when it was released for the first time. 12% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted at the domaine in January 2026.
