Sumoll og 75 % Xarello. Kalksten. Gylden i farven og krystalklar. Næsen er reduktiv og generøst aromatisk på samme tid, super spændende. Fra appelsinskal til kvæde og æble, Reineclaude og også stenfrugt. Enigmatisk, multikompleks, viser modenhed, men er stadig lukket. Dette er mousserende vin af den bedste slags. Store ting med et langt liv.

A new wine that Pepe Raventos clearly holds much hope in; as a believer in Sumoll Negre, this small plot on the Serral hill has 25% Sumoll planted in with the 75% Xarel-lo. As a pair the two grapes seem to blend extremely successfully, yielding a pink-tinged wine of remarkable, crystal-clear mineral drive and discrete aromatics of red plum, ripe apple and sweet orange citrus. Indeed the ageing profile here is incredibly slow and controlled, the wine remaining stunningly youthful, just starting to show some spicy and savoury detail in the glass. A direction to watch.

The 2013 Mas del Serral Clos Petit is composed of 75% Xarel·lo and 25% Sumoll from Conca del Riu Anoia. From a great vintage for Penedès, it opens with slightly confited red fruit, cherry, apple, pastry and toast. Dry, vibrant and tense, the palate is refined with fine bubbles, elevated acidity and a long finish. Singular and complex, it shows the nervy side of Penedès sparkling wines.
