Domaine de Panisse Chateauneuf-du-Pape Le Mas
Based on 50% Grenache, 20% Syrah, 15% Mourvèdre, and 15% Cinsault, the 2023 Châteauneuf Du Pape Le Mas comes from the cooler, northeastern part of the appellation and is made by the team at Clos du Caillou. Partially destemmed and aged 14 months in 90% demi-muids with 10% in used barrels, it shows deeper ruby/plum hues and pretty aromatics of bright berries, minty herbs, flowers, and pepper. It's medium-bodied, with a nicely concentrated, elegant mouthfeel, fine tannins, and outstanding length. There are roughly 1,250 cases produced, and it will drink well for 10-15 years. Drink 2025-2040.
