There is often a twist on the Navazos releases, and the 2015 La Bota de Manzanilla 82 Florpower MMXV is the same wine as edition 77, but it was fortified and had additional time under flor, almost three years. It's a single-vintage and single-harvest Manzanilla, a true rarity nowadays, from two plots in Pago Miraflores la Baja in Sanlúcar de Barrameda fermented in 600-liter sherry butts, where it matured until its bottling in 2018. It has great complexity and fulfills the rules to be a Manzanilla, but it has the vineyard signature (the old vines in Miraflores) that provides great elegance. Even if the vintage is not certified as such, this is a Manzanilla that inherits the FlorPower character and its finesse. It has a spectacular palate, great power and finesse, and it's very developed, as it was never refreshed with newer wine. Simply spectacular. 3,500 bottles produced. 94/100

Whilst a signature feature of Sherry production is blending, this Manzanilla is a single-vintage, single-vineyard rendition. The Palomino grapes are only sourced from vineyards in the Miraflores area, just to the south of Sanlucar de Barrameda. The classic chalky albariza soil in this particular area is loose, crumbly and a little spongy, with high water retention. This has really fresh apples on the nose with yeasty complexity and almond nuttiness. It is tangy, but not sharp, with a weighty richness, making it quite wine-like. An approachable, introductory style for the Sherry novice. 94/100
