Jorges yndlingsrødvin? Den reneste ultrafine Chateauneuf i stil med Clos des Papes møder Bourgogne. Fantastisk smag, ultradelikat og alligevel strømmer alt uophørligt ind i næsen. Helklasegæringen giver den krydrede base. Næsten intet mærkbart træ. Jeg tror næppe, jeg kunne finde sådan en drømme-Grenache til så få penge i Rhône, Priorat eller Rioja. Vellystig skønhed fuld af erotik, smuk at smelte væk. 96-97+/100

This wine was not produced in 2019, so I jumped to the 2020 Mas de Mancuso Garnacha from the 2018 I tasted last time. It comes from a north-facing slope on slate soils. It fermented with 100% full clusters and matured in the same 500-liter barrels used for the 2018 (so older) for a slightly longer time, 18 months. There's a certain brightness in the aromas and the taste, with an earthy twist, some peppery aromas, good ripeness, 14% alcohol and good freshness. It has some dusty tannins and, again, a slightly earthy, rustic touch that should get polished with time in bottle. 4,000 bottles were filled in February 2023. 94/100

Another really beautiful and profound Garnacha from Jorge Nevascués’ 60 year old vines in Almonacid de la Sierra at 700m. Vines here are grown mostly on slate and lime clay soils. Jorge ferments with indigenous yeast and around 50% whole bunch. The wine then spends 12 months aging, a third in used 500L barrels and the rest in cement. Violet and orange peel on the nose with exuberant blueberry fruit and just enough grip, this is a deliciously accessible yet complex wine. 94/100
