Gigondas L' Argnee Vieilles Vignes
-- Jeb Dunnuck: Coming from very old vines planted in the sandy part of the appellation (Gigondas is mostly limestone soils), the 2015 Gigondas L'Argnee Vieilles Vignes was brought up in a mix of tanks and foudre, and there are just 100 cases made. This deep ruby colored 2015 has tons of minerality as well as sensational notes of black raspberries, savory spice, dried herbs, and graphite. Rich, full-bodied and tannic, it needs to be forgotten for 4-5 years and is going to shine over the following decade or more. 96+/100
