Alexandre Ma om:
Chateau La Gaffeliere
Orange peel, blood grapefruit, and red dates appear one after another, bright and ethereal. A lifted red tea aroma from whole-cluster fermentation adds a flowing elegance, bringing a vivid sense of movement and inner tension to Château La Gaffelière in 2024. It shatters all preconceptions about what a cool, rainy vintage can be. On the palate, a delicioust and cheerful clarity takes the lead, while high acidity lends lift to a structure as slender and poised as a model in stride. This year, the estate not only preserved its 43% Cabernet Franc, but also introduced 13% Cabernet Sauvignon – an unusual decision that brings new architecture and depth to its typically airy style, making it one of the most radiant expressions of the vintage.
