Vinen har 13,9 volumenprocent alkohol og består af 64 procent Sauvignon Blanc og 36 procent Semillon. Den noget mere lerede jordbund i Haut-Brion giver simpelthen mere kraft, både i rødvinen og i hvidvinen. Selv om den har mere Sauvignon Blanc, og man faktisk ville tilskrive Semillon mere fylde, er det simpelthen omvendt i denne vin - sammenlignet med den hvide La Mission. Utrolig rig og tæt. Abrikos også her - det er årgangens karakter. Men også mango, meget fyldig, sød gul melon, en chilikrydrethed og hvid peber. Lang, tæt, rig, overdådig, næsten fed. En kæmpe begivenhed i munden. Øjnene trækker sig sammen. Uendelig tæt, med strålende friskhed og også en masse fedt. Grandios, så meget overdådighed i en hvidvin. Store sager, men for mig lidt efter den hvide La Mission, fordi den simpelthen mangler finesse og legesyge. Dette er en hvid power-Bordeaux med enorm tæthed. 100/100

Very aromatic, with a real airy quality of jasmine, lilacs, crushed stone, pear skin and apple, as well as some citrus. Full-bodied and dense with a creamy, phenolic texture that lasts for minutes at the end. Structured like a red wine. Reserved, compact and intense, and holding back for the future. Drink after 2028 and onwards. 100/100

The light gold-hued 2019 Château Haut-Brion Blanc is more Sauvignon-dominated and includes close to 36% Semillon. It's a more mineral-laced, complex, layered wine, with stunning notes of crushed citrus, white grapefruit, orange blossom, and salty, crushed rock-like nuances. The purity here is just about off the charts, and it's medium to full-bodied, with flawless balance, perfectly integrated acidity, and a finish that won't quit. It's a brilliant white in every sense. 97-100/100

This Haut-Brion 2019 Blanc is a blend of 64.4% Sauvignon Blanc and 35.6% Semillon, harvested from the 29th of August to the 9th of September. The estimated label alcohol degree is 14%. The nose is quite subdued to begin, soon unfurling to offer fragrant scents of orange blossoms, white peaches and lime cordial with hints of oyster shell, fresh ginger, pomelo and kumquat plus a suggestion of jasmine. The medium to full-bodied palate has a seducing hint of oiliness texturing the intense citrus and chalky layers, lifted by bold freshness and finishing with incredible length and perfume. Just stunning. 96-98+
