Heiner Lobenberg om:
Chateau Berliquet Grand Cru Classe 2021
/100
Frost i april, lidt mere på Berliquet end på Canon. 61 procent Merlot og 39 procent Cabernet Franc, 13,5 procent alkohol i volumen. Blid, koncentreret næse. Brombær, cassis, tørret frugt. Lidt tobak.

Rather firm and muscular tannins frame the wine. Medium-to full-bodied with a column of fruit and density. Shows potential. Earth and spice at the end. 93-94/100

Galloni om: Chateau Berliquet Grand Cru Classe
The 2021 Berliquet is every bit as impressive as it was en primeur. A wine of substance and depth, the 2021 possesses notable complexity and limestone-driven intensity. As always, Berliquet is a bit chunky in feel, but the team here, led by Nicolas Berliquet, is doing important work in taming the tannins and giving the wine greater finesse. The direction here is quite positive. The 2021 has been impressive each of the three times I have tasted it so far. 93/100

Jane Anson om: Chateau Berliquet Grand Cru Classe
An attractive bright purple colour with violet rim, and warming fruit aromatics, touches of cloves. This is impressive, with a lovely sense of lift and freshness, and beautifully placed raspberry, blackberry and redcurrant fruits. A little bulkier than its sibling estate Canon, slightly more angular tannins in this vintage, but still with the juicy fingerprint of limestone. First year of organic conversion, with certification expected 2024. 44% new oak, plus four amphora. 30hl/h yield, 3.41ph. Clay-limestone plateau, next to Canon but with slightly cooler, more powerful soils. Tasted twice. 93/100

Decanter om: Chateau Berliquet Grand Cru Classe
Lovely aromatics on the nose of ripe blackcurrant and black cherry with some creamy elements. Concentrated and driving on the palate with lively acidity and a well balanced density for the vintage in the grippy but chewy tannins, fresh blackcurrant and bramble fruits and such precision of elements. Everything feels well worked, refined and well presented with freshness and sense of energy all the way through. It's not the most layered at this point, quite linear with tension but excellently executed. A very classy wine and one to seek out! An excellent success this year from winemaker Nicolas Audebert and his team. 3.41pH. 93/100

Jeb Dunnuck om: Chateau Berliquet Grand Cru Classe
I was able to taste the 2021 Château Berliquet on multiple occasions, and it always rated between 92 and 94 points. A blend of 61% Merlot and 39% Cabernet Franc raised in 44% new oak, it's a bigger, richer wine than its neighbor Canon but also doesn't display quite the precision and purity. Nevertheless, this is a beautiful wine offering medium-bodied aromas and flavors of black cherries, smoked tobacco, damp earth, and graphite. It's balanced, has ripe, velvety tannins, and the fresher, focused style of the vintage. It's a 2021 well worth your time and money, and it's going to be a brilliant value as well. This checks in at a solid 13.5% alcohol and a pH of 3.41. 93/100

Parker om: Chateau Berliquet Grand Cru Classe
The 2021 Berliquet shows considerable promise, exhibiting aromas of cherries, wild berries, raw cocoa and rose petals, followed by a medium to full-bodied, lively and charming palate that's framed by powdery tannins and tangy acids. Concluding with a long and saline finish, this estate continues to go from strength to strength under the administration of Nicolas Audibert and his team. 92-93/100

This has the bright and energetic fruit flavours typical of this vintage. Sandy tannins and a long and harmonious finish. 92-93/100

Tim Atkin om: Chateau Berliquet Grand Cru Classe
Rich and spicy oak and smoke aromas with clove and some liquorice. Concentrated black fruits and cassis with a sweet-edge to the fruit and great beginnings of spicy oak. Very concentrated extraction with fine tannins and freshness, but great depth and palate coating texture. 92/100

Neal Martin om: Chateau Berliquet Grand Cru Classe
The 2021 Berliquet was picked September 23 to October 5 at 30hL/ha, and matured in 44% new oak for a planned 16 months. Limpid purple in color. The nose is surprisingly concentrated given the growing season, offering crème de cassis and violet petal aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with quite firm tannins that frame the black cherry and boysenberry fruit. Not a complex Berliquet, yet it possesses admirable substance and ripeness on the finish. One to watch. 91-93/100

Jeff Leve om: Chateau Berliquet Grand Cru Classe
Earthy plums, cherries, flowers, and a touch of menthol create the nose. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied, soft, bright, silky, and fresh, with sweet, ripe, red fruits in the refined finish. The wine blends 61 % Merlot with 39 % Cabernet Franc 13.5% ABV. The harvest took place September 23 – October 5. Drink from 2023-2038. 91-93/100
Berliquet
