Winedoctor om:
Tresor Rosé Saumur Brut Flaschengärung
This essentially starts out as the same cuvée as the white Trésor, so vinified in oak, and aged in oak before blending an bottling for the second fermentation. The rosé component comes with the inclusion of little Cabernet Franc. In the glass it has a pure, salmon-pink hue, and a plentiful yet fin bead. This is followed by a very reticent nose, showing some red cherry stone and plu stone notes, but feeling rather tight and withdrawn. The palate is very taut, with a firm frame of acid freshness and an incisive mousse, the fruit showing the same dry and introverted character suggested on the nose. It is underpinned by a gentle and sinewy texture, and a confident substance. Long, full and bright, I see very fine potential here, but I think it needs a little cellar time, maybe a year or so, to show its best.
