Senora de las Alturas Blanco
The white 2024 Señora de las Alturas Blanco is a blend of two-thirds Viura and Garnacha Blanca from white soils in the village of Fitero, looking for a more vibrant and electric wine. The varieties fermented separately: the Viura in three 500-liter barrels and the Garnacha Blanca in a 700-liter concrete egg and an 800-liter ceramic Clayver container, where the wines matured for nine months. It has lower alcohol than the 2023, at 12.4%, with a pH of 3.2 and 6.7 grams of acidity, notably fresher. It's sharper and more vertical; the Garnacha Blanca adds freshness and the Viura volume, contrary to what you might think, but it's because of the place, not the variety. They were going for more reductive vinification, and the wine is flinty and sharper, chalky from the limestone soils and fine-boned with the texture of talcum powder. It's precise, sharp and long. It should age nicely in bottle. 4,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in June 2025.
