Den nyeste hest fra Moët & Chandon-stalden og prestige-cuvéen par excellence. En champagne, der helt sikkert sætter nye kvalitetsstandarder i moderhuset. Den første udgave af "Haut Œnologie"-linjen, som blev lanceret for at markere husets 280-års jubilæum. Cuvéen er klassisk, 40 procent hver af Chardonnay og Pinot Noir, med 20 procent Meunier, degorgeret som Brut Nature. Cuvéen består af syv årgange. Næsten alle de bedste årgange i dette århundrede finder plads her. Ud over de unge årgange 2013 og 2012 indgår også ældre årgange som 2008 og 2006, op til 2004 og 2000. Helt klar, ligefrem næse. Utrolig salt, mineralsk med østersskal og bar kalksten, plus lidt saltet citron og frisk croissant. Lidt kokos og hvid fersken danner en subtilt lækker base. Aromatisk set er dette så arketypisk champagne, som det kan blive. En stor mintfriskhed tilføjes i ganen. Utroligt afbalanceret, afbalanceret og sublim med en berusende struktur. Perlage er utrolig delikat, endda dansende. Dette er topklasse og et nyt niveau for dette store mærke. 96/100

The aromatic complexity of this multi-vintage blend is dazzling, framed by a controlled and alluring reductive tautness of gunpowder, white pepper and charred citrus peel. Unfolds with a lengthy procession of poached strawberry, papaya and dried peach, eventually showing intruiging nuances such as cocoa, dried lime, nutty honey and sourdough. The gentle, resovled weight of age is apparent on the palate, yet the effect is surprisingly delicate and calm, and all the more nimble with zero dosage, refusing to feel either conclusively mature or youthful. Rather unique, this will be fascinating to follow, with further time on cork perhaps offering yet more smoothness and complexity. A blend of seven vintages, 42.5% of which is the 2013 Grand Vintage blend, followed by 2012, 2010, 2008, 2006, 2004 and 2000 reserves aged in oak foudres.

Complex aromatics to this inaugural release, which cellar master Benoit Gouez has been working on since the turn of the century. Bergamot, ash, white truffles, licorice, fresh and dried figs, flint and some toast on the nose, evolving to honeycomb and beeswax. On the palate it’s smoky and savory, with creamy bubbles and delicious umami and salty elements. There’s no dosage (no sugar added), but it’s beautifully balanced with a dried-fruit and braised-mushroom sweetness to it. A blend of 7 vintages: 2013 (vinified in steel tanks), 2012, 2010, 2008, 2006, 2000 (all vinified in oak casks) and 2004 (aged on the lees in bottle). Bottled in 2014 and disgorged in August 2022. 40% chardonnay, 40% pinot noir and 20% meunier. Drink now or hold.
