All the colors of pepper pour from the glass of this creamy, concentrated, medium- to full-bodied gruner veltliner Smaragd. This rich masterpiece has the freshness and delicacy of the vintage. In the very long finish, a touch of candied pineapple gives it a special kick. And it has only just spread its wide wings and taken to the air. Drink or hold.

The 2023 Grüner Veltliner Loibenberg Smaragd was picked in both loess- and gneiss-dominated parcels between the foot and the mid-slope of this site. Moss and yeast charm on the nose. The warmth and softness of the site become apparent on the palate with more ripeness and fill. Smooth depth holds pepper, zest and white miso. This wine expands at the core and tapers back into a fresh finish with quite some understated power. (Bone-dry)
