Druerne kommer hovedsageligt fra den golde stenede jord i Flora Marie- og El Diablo-vinmarkerne, som strækker sig øst for Russian River. De bidrager til Chloes tætte struktur og cremethed. 30 procent af druerne kommer fra den kystnære parcel "Bressay Estate", som tilfører friskhed og en energisk, lang finish i munden. Modnet i 11 måneder på 35 procent nye franske fade fra Tonnellerie Damy, som er elsket af mange vinbønder i Bourgogne. Derefter følger en fire måneders hvilefase i tanken, før vinen tappes på flaske. Chloe er allerede imponerende intens i næsen. Modne gule æbler og frugtblomster med peber, muskatnød og en delikat røget mineralitet, der får en skiferlignende smag. I munden glider vinen cremet, næsten olieagtig hen over tungen. Bitter citron, kandiseret citron, kumquat og hvid fersken er i vidunderlig harmoni med et strejf af cedertræ, muskatnød, jasminblomst og røgede, stenede smagsnuancer. Chloe har en vidunderlig tæthed uden at være fed. Den skubber på med en fantastisk spænding i munden. I modsætning til DuMOL's Hyde og Estate Vineyard Chardonnays har den allerede nået sit ideelle drikkevindue. Fantastiske sager!

Pouring a bright medium yellow/straw hue, the 2021 Chardonnay Chloe is highly expressive, with a golden perfume of pineapple, orange oil, and a bit of honeysuckle. It has full body and a rounded texture, with ripe apricot, hazelnut, and white flowers. A lusher personality to drink over the next ten years, it’s a bit more open at this youthful stage. 96/100

Opulent, Bold, Orchard Fruit, Nutty, Yeasty, Baking Spices, Medium to Full bodied, Crisp Acidity, Subtle Oak, Satiny Texture, Ready to Drink. The nose on the 2021 Chardonnay Chloe already delivers fabulous complexity, with notes of orange blossom, cashews, baker's yeast, and honeycomb, opening out to a flamboyant core of apricots, honeydew melon, spiced apples, and juicy pears. The medium to full-bodied palate vibrates with impactful stone fruit and spicy flavors, framed by a racy backbone and a creaminess to the texture, finishing very long and opulent. This is a blend of 3 vineyards, El Diablo (Eastside Vineyard), Flora Marie (right next door), and a block from the Bressay vineyard. Only 50 barrels are made, with 1/3 new oak. pH 3.48, ABV 14.1%, 1,234 cases made.

This deep, phenolic Chardonnay has a ton to offer. 93-95/100
