Just bottled 10 days before this tasting, the 2020 Collioure Chrysopée Blanc ranks with the finest whites coming from the South of France. A blend of 90% Grenache Gris and 10% Grenache Blanc raised in 30% demi-muids, it offers a vibrant, medium-bodied, fresh, almost chiseled style as well as beautiful melon, honeyed mineral, and pear-like aromas and flavors. I love its mid-palate, and it has a bright, crystalline texture followed by a great finish. Hide bottles for a year of two and enjoy over the following decade. 95+/100

A solid, textured and vivid white. The nose shows notes of bergamot, cedar, dried herbs, stones and some dried lemon peel. It’s medium-bodied with plenty of volume and texture. Velvety, with a bright core of lemons and herbs funneling into the flavorful, lively finish. Drink or hold.
