Decanter om:
Chenin Blanc
The basis for the estate Chenin Blanc is the granitic Plat’bos vineyard, but Swartland fruit from a variety of soils contributes to the final wine. Dry-farmed, like all of David and Nadia Sadie's vineyards, this comes from eight sites planted between 1968 and 1986, and is harvested across 25 pickings. There's an enormous amount of effort behind this cuvée, which offers terrific value for the complexity on display and is an ideal entry point into the David & Nadia range. It showcases Swartland Chenin Blanc superbly, leading with zesty green tropical notes of pineapple and mango sorbet, followed by a burst of Amalfi lemon zest and juicy pear, with some spice and grip from 11 months ageing in old oak. The palate is tangy, bright and full of energy. A joy to drink.
