Genial markblanding af Chenin Blanc, Semillon, Clairette, Verdelho, Roussanne, Grenache Blanc og Viognier. Som alt andet hos David & Nadia er den 100 procent økologisk. Vinstokkene, hvoraf nogle er meget gamle, vokser hovedsageligt på granitjorden i Paardeberg og den jernholdige lerjord vest for Malmesbury. Så her er vi lige i hjertet af den spændende Swartland-region. I kælderen arbejder David & Nadia "hands-off", minimalt invasivt. Hovedsageligt med presning af hele klaser, dvs. med stilkene intakte, derefter gæret med vildgær i brugte franske barriques og modnet der i 11 måneder. Semillon gæres på drueskindet i en uge, før den modnes i 2.500 liter neutrale fuderfade, hvilket giver den endelige vin dens strålende fornemmelse. En del af Chenin Blanc blev gæret og modnet i betonæg og en betontank. I alt indgår der druer fra 21 (!) forskellige vinmarker i denne vin. Det er et blandet mesterværk! Stilmæssigt er det Loire møder Rhône, eksotisk og alligevel meget struktureret, stenet og ligetil. Grøn pære, hvid peber, moden ananas, honningmelon, tørrede, subtilt bitre urter. De friske limefrugter og saltede mandler giver vinen et kick og balance! Wow, virkelig elegant og fint struktureret, men også totalt cremet i munden. 96+/100

The 2022 Aristargos is immensely complex, fresh and exciting. It comes from different soil types that express a refined mineral essence with pomaceous and yellow citrus notes in this wine. Medium-bodied, the palate displays surprising weight and a kiss of phenolic bitterness, delivering a balanced structure before ending with a food-friendly finish that has me coming back for more. An incredibly cerebral wine, the Aristargos has me thinking and going back for second and third sips. You'll want to buy as much of this as possible. 94+/100

At 13,000 bottles, Aristargos is one of the larger production whites in David and Nadia Sadie's portfolio. Based on Chenin Blanc, with the remaining 53% made up of Semillon, Verdelho, Clairette Blanche, Grenache Blanc, Marsanne, Colombard and Viognier, it's a layered, mealy, waxy cuvée with subtle skin contact bitterness, racy acidity and pear, quince and lemongrass flavours. 2023-29 94/100

Decanter om: Aristargos

A classic Swartland white blend made with 47% Chenin Blanc, 11% Semillon, 9% Verdelho, 7% Clairette Blanche, 7% Roussanne, 6% Grenache Blanc, 6% Marsanne, 5% Colombard and 2% Viognier. This is a rich, textured, fleshy wine on a more generous scale than the David & Nadia Chenins, with aromas of roasted nuts, pineapple, juicy nectarine and coconut cream, complemented by curry leaf, lime sherbet and orange zest. Long and lightly buttery, with a hint of sourdough, it is ample yet fresh, fairly full-bodied despite its low alcohol. A touch of fresh honey emerges on the finish.

This is a complex white showing aromas of white lavender, apricots, honeysuckle and beeswax. Some salted almonds. Firmly textured and medium- to full-bodied. Blend of nine varieties, based on chenin blanc with semillon, clairette blanche, grenache blanc, viognier, marsanne, roussanne, verdelho and colombar. Drink or hold. 93/100
