This is the richer of the two prestige cuvées from this producer. It is made for aging and this Champagne is still very young. All the elements are there, including rich fruits, spice and good acidity. But wait at least until 2022 for this wine to approach maturity. 94/100

The William Deutz 2009 is very much a bon viveur who is already giving plenty of immediate pleasure. Bright, youthful and balanced, it exhibits a delightful mélange of praline, honey, citrus, toast and dried fruits. Less heralded than its older 2008 sibling, this is very easy to enjoy now but it has enough acidity and structure to age and develop. 94/100

The 2009 Brut Millésimé William Deutz is ripe, racy and seductive. Lemon confit, mint, tangerine oil and kirsch meld together in a forward, flamboyant Champagne endowed with tremendous appeal. Radiant and open-knit, the 2009 will drink well upon release. Tangerine oil, passion fruit and a touch of vanillin add an exotic flair. 94/100

Disgorged in 2018, the 2009 Brut Cuvée William Deutz is charming and expressive, wafting from the glass with aromas of citrus oil, fresh peach, crisp yellow apple and brioche. Medium to full-bodied, fine-boned and elegant, it's chalky and precise despite is demonstrative, enveloping core of fruit, complemented by a delicate mousse. It's already drinking well. 94/100

Da Wilhelm Deutz, oprindeligt fra Aachen, i 1838 grundlagde huset "Champagne Deutz" i Ay sammen med sin partner Peter Geldermann, lagde han stor vægt på at bruge druer fra mange forskellige vinmarker til sin champagne, men kun fra de bedste tæt på ejendommen.
