Mørk rubinrød farve. Kirsebær, violer og lakrids i næsen, men ret fin og let. Mellemfyldig i munden, dette er en rigtig, meget delikat letvægter. Afsluttes med et lille strejf af salt. Ganske køn, men i munden mangler den det kød og tryk, der skal til for at være stor. Behagelig og frem for alt velsmagende lille Saint Julien til tidlig, glad nydelse. ***. Talbot har forbedret sig enormt i de senere år. Tidligere, i 70'erne, 80'erne og 90'erne, kunne jeg ikke altid lide den. På grund af terroiret har Talbot brug for varme og tørre år, så den mister den typiske græsagtighed fra tidligere år, som faktisk er resultatet af en vis umodenhed. Når Talbot er moden, er det en nådesløs god Saint-Julien.

Focused, dense and creamy with berries and chocolate on the nose. It’s medium-bodied with fine tannins. Chalky, with crunchy berries and a flavorful finish.

While not the pinnacle of recent vintages, Château Talbot 2024 still offers plenty to appreciate. The classic mocha-powder tannins lend a hint of fleshiness to this slender-bodied wine, while raspberry and red plum brighten the bouquet with airy charm. These elements intertwine to form a tender, silky texture, perfectly in tune with its signature air of quiet poise and fluidity. It’s worth noting that this wine is best appreciated in its youth, with its ideal drinking window falling within the first 15 years.

Decanter om: Chateau Talbot 4eme Cru

Bright and alive in the mouth, juicy, succulent and ripe with cool blue fruit elements too. Cherry and strawberries mix with chalky, wet stones. Round and forward, this has a sense of fun and persistence. Feels well worked with enough ripeness and balancing tannins. Great stuff here. Chewy, concentrated and just fun. Good first and second wine here in 2024.

Pretty aromatically, this is another St Julien that is very floral in this vintage. There’s a lovely earthiness to this too that gives this more of a sense of gravitas – somehow it grounds the wine, almost literally. I like very much the ‘Talbot’ nuttiness – blanched almonds and walnuts. It maybe lacks a little mid-palate delineation and definition in comparison to some of its august neighbours, but this is very fine. Strikingly juicy on the finish which is always a sign of quality – above all in 2024.

Blackberries, currants, and tobacco leaf open the medium-bodied wine. Juicy, and fresh, with black currants in every sniff, swirl, and sip, the wine will offer charm early, but, it will also have the ability to age for two decades with ease. The wine blends 59% Cabernet Sauvignon, with 41% Merlot.13% ABV. Drink from 2028-2045.
