100 procent semillon. I friske, delikate årgange er Suduiraut nogle gange vinderen på point. Det kan også være tilfældet i 2023. Med 100 procent Semillon har den brug for årgangens friskhed. Næsen er så berusende, så fin! Fyldig gul frugt med abrikos, passionsfrugt, honning og karamel, men det hele er fint. Intet er papagtigt, intet er tungt og overdådigt. Vinen flyder! Munden tager derefter virkelig fat. Wow, en Sauternes næsten med lidt tanninskarphed, men absolut med masser af greb, kraft og tryk. Det hele er indlejret i et potpourri af karamel, honning og gul frugt. Vinen har struktur og længde og er noget større end bare alles darling. Men den er på ingen måde for fed, på ingen måde for sød. En strålende Sauternes med storhed til evigt liv. Endda foran Lafaurie Peyraguey, det bedste modstykke til den superelegante La Tour Blanche. Store, smarte sager med udødelig storhed!

The 2023 Suduiraut (100% Sémillon) is a real stunner. Light on its feet yet wonderfully deep, the 2023 offers up a heady mix of tangerine oil, mint, white flowers, apricot and passion fruit. Readers will find a Sauternes that is more finesse than power. The 2023 is essentially a blend of three picks. The first was done at the end of September and accounted for 20% of the crop. The core of the vineyard, about 75%, was picked in a day ten window in October, following the September rains. A smaller third pick rounded out the harvest.

Pale lemon-gold in color, the 2023 Suduiraut swans out of the glass with flamboyant notes of candied orange peel, lemon meringue pie, lime cordial, and beeswax, followed by hints of preserved ginger, allspice, and white truffle. The palate is both rich and bursting with freshness, delivering waves of baking spice and citrus preserve flavors, leading to incredible length and layers on the finish of this stunning wine. This is 100% Semillon, with a pH of 3.80 and 150 g/l of residual sugar.

Intensity is the keyword here. The wealth of ripe, and overripe white peaches, pineapples, pears, roasted cashews, apricots, spice, and vanilla is off the hook! The wine is rich, opulent, and seductive, but there is ample racy acidity giving this sweet treat the lift it needs. Long, and seamless, this is a true, decadent treat, that lovers of sweet wines should have in their cellars. It will age for decades. The wine was made from 100% Semillon. Drink from 2025-2060. 97-99 Pts.

The purity of the botrytis grabs your attention, with density and intensity to the dried fruit, sweetness and length. Very spicy and long. Almost oily. Really rich. 150g/L residual sugar. 100% semillon.

(Sauternes; 100% Sémillon; a final yield of 12 hl/ha; 150 g/l of residual sugar; 3.8 pH; 14% alcohol). Brilliantly bright and engaging, even for Suduiraut. It can be rich and viscous, but here the acidity is so evident from the start that it’s tense as hell! 51 shades of citrus, brandy snap, fresh ginger, a little pineapple, confit pineapple, a hint of peanut brittle, white almond too. So deceptively rich, you don’t expect it from the fresh aromatics. Nicely chiselled and like the white vertical in form constraining the firework show in the mid-palate and bringing even greater intensity to it. Brilliantly electric. What a spectacle. Fabulous. Right up there as one of the greatest vines of the vintage. Super fresh on the finish, zesty and sucking in the cheeks.

Killer juice, the 2023 Château Suduiraut has a drop-dead gorgeous nose of honeyed orange, white flowers, warm croissant, and spice. This carries to a full-bodied Sauternes with a round, layered mouthfeel, terrific sweetness of fruit, and bright acidity.
