Lobenberg: Meget charmerende næse af mælkechokolade med sorte kirsebær og brombær. Fin, sød, lidt positivt endimensionel, men virkelig meget flot. I smagen fortsætter den sorte frugt problemfrit med en rig fylde og smuk syre. En meget afbalanceret, harmonisk vin med god volumen. Virkelig sjov, men ikke i toppen af St. Julien i år med hensyn til tanninstrukturen, men med en charmefaktor! 95+/100

Decanter om: Chateau Langoa Barton 3eme Cru

A dark nose: tobacco, liquorice, potpourri and blackcurrants. Grippy and intense yet juicy, bright and weighty. Tannins fill the mouth with a half-chewy, half-mineral texture. Fruit is pristine. A lovely sense of clarity and precision, structured but not weighty. Full of fresh red berry elements and minty cola touches on the finish. A refined style, with lots of interest and drinkability. Cool and classic.

The 2010 Langoa-Barton has a very serious complex and involving bouquet with blackberry, cedar, sage and light sous-bois aromas that are exquisitely defined. The oak here is seamlessly integrated. The palate is medium-bodied with supple rounded tannins that frame its payload of black fruit laced with white pepper and cedar. It fans out brilliantly towards the finish. It is so velvety in texture that you could almost broach this now, but its substance and weight suggests that it deserves another few years in the cellar. Tasted blind at Farr Vintners 10-Year On Bordeaux horizontal. 95/100

-- NM: Tasted at the Union de Grand Cru in London. Although Anthony Barton’s wine may become overshadowed by his brilliant Léoville, do not ignore that gem. The Langoa Barton has a supremely well-defined bouquet: classy, refined and perfectly pitched. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins and wonderful focus. Silky smooth in texture, harmonious with a pure and shimmering finish, this constitutes one of the finest Langoa-Barton wines in recent years. Tasted November 2012. 94+/100
