Lobenberg: Usædvanlig mørk for Figeac, næsten sort, rød kant. Stadig noget lukket i næsen. Sorte og røde kirsebær, lidt cassis, ribs, lidt skovjordbær, rosenblade. Varm, blød, afbalanceret mund. Kølig og hurtig rød og blå frugt i ganen. Ribs, blåbær, tranebær og hindbær. Syren og friskheden nærmer sig den typiske Figeac efter lidt luftning. Højt løb. Uhyre lang og frisk, spankulerende. Masser af kirsebær med mælkechokolade og Nutella. Blød, varm og harmonisk. Viser godt løb. Masser af glycerin. En sjov skaber. Usædvanlig for en Figeac smagt så tidligt. Afslutningen er meget hurtig, præcis som en Figeac skal være. Rige sorte kirsebær sammen med røde kirsebær og mælkechokolade. En meget harmonisk vin, som i højere grad ville være blevet kategoriseret som en Clos Fourtet på grund af dens fremragende balance. Fantastisk biograf! Det andet store år i træk. Vinen passer så godt. 100/100

This is phenomenal on the nose with blackberries, fresh cep mushrooms, forest fruit, and earth. Turns to hazelnuts and dark berries. Subtle. Breathtaking. It's full-bodied on the palate, with superb tannins that last for minutes. The flavor is subtle yet incredible. Love the texture. It is the same wonderful quality level as 2009. This is so fabulous to taste now, but so much better in 2018. 98/100

Deep garnet colored, the 2010 Figeac bursts from the glass with gregarious scents of baked blueberries, black cherry compote and chocolate box with hints of camphor, pencil lead and iron ore. Medium to full-bodied, the palate has beautifully ripe, velvety tannins and bold freshness supporting the generous fruit, finishing long and layered. 97/100

This is a Figeac that rhymes with freshness and fragrance, endowed as it is with compelling scents of flowers including iris, menthol, ripe black fruits, spices, and a touch of graphite. It embodies the singular style of the 2010 vintage that produced dense, fleshy yet fresh wines of strong personality, but Figeac also shines for the taut and precise architecture of its fine-grained tannic structure. This is a magnificent wine worthy of cellaring for at least twenty years. 97/100

Fennel notes on the first nose, this continues to have an austere architecture at 12 years old, and should be set aside for a few more years. You can feel the juice dripping off the musclaar frame however, and this is just waiting to pounce. So much sinew and concentration to cassis, blueberry and bilberry fruits. As it opens, an earthier, liqourice root and smoked turmeric character comes out, with black truffle and soy. Harvest September 27 to October 18, yield 33hl/h 100% new oak for ageing. 97/100

Chateau Figeac er en smuk landejendom på grusplateauet i Saint Emilion med 40 hektar vinmarker skråt over for Cheval Blanc. Nærheden til Cheval Blanc afspejles også i vinen - især i gode år. Den tidligere ejer Thierry Manoncourt, som desværre gik bort i 2010, mente endda, at hans vin var den fineste...
