Star anise, sandalwood and cedar – lovely perfume and exceptionally fine tannins. Still needs time to swallow its oak, but it's looking very promising and possesses a lovely sense of finesse. No huge concentration, but there's enough and the balance is very good; this is great winemaking. Focused and engaging with tight tannins currently, and has enough freshness to last. A combination of lieux-dits La Côte Blonde and La Côte Brune. Fermented separately then blended.

Red and black fruits, spice, smoked game, and floral, peppery, incense nuances, even a hint of dried orange, all emerge from the 2024 Côte Rôtie La Mordorée. This beauty is medium-bodied, has a pure, layered mouthfeel, remarkable purity, and outstanding length. I don't see it matching the 2023, yet it has a more firm, focused structured style at this point and is certainly impressive. This cuvée comes from a blend of the Côte Brune and Côte Blonde lieux-dits.
