Blanc de Blancs er på ingen måde overdrevent spids, men på trods af sin fokuserede ligefremhed er dens let cremede aroma altid med til at omslutte og omfavne ganen. Den mineralske friskhed gennemsyrer alligevel vinen som en rygrad og forvandles til en kridtagtig, gribende saltholdighed i den lange finish. Longitude is a selection from vines in Vertus, Oger, Avize and Cramant, one premier cru and three grand cru villages that align on the fourth meridian. Farmed and vinified the same way as Terre de Vertus, this blend includes 40 percent reserve wines going back to 2004. What the Larmandiers have accomplished through their meticulous farming is compellingly apparent in the glass: The scent itself is sexy and grand, a scent like soil made of seashells. The shape of the wine is beautiful, with a luscious acidity adding spice to the pale white fruit. The flavors might bring to mind a crunchy apple, Marcona almonds and hazelnuts, but mostly they create a lasting impression of Champagne, of the Côte des Blancs and its parallax view of restraint and sheer hedonism. 95/100

The NV Extra Brut Blanc de Blancs Longitude 1er Cru is a blend taken from parcels in Vertus, Avize, Cramant and Oger that lie on the same longitudinal axis. Crushed rocks, jasmine, mint, white pepper and lemon peel race out of the glass. This taut, beautifully sculpted yet airy Champagne from Larmandier-Bernier is a winner. This release is based on 2019 and 40% a perpetual reserve that goes back to 2004. Dosage is 3 grams per liter. 94/100

Delivering aromas of citrus pith, pastry cream, crisp orchard fruit and freshly baked bread, the latest rendition of Larmandier-Bernier's NV Extra-Brut Blanc de Blancs Premier Cru Longitude is medium to full-bodied, chalky and incisive, with a rich core of fruit, racy acids and a pretty pinpoint mousse. Concluding with a long, saline finish, it's more chiseled than its Latitude counterpart and represents an appreciable step up. It's based on the 2019 vintage and was disgorged early this year. 93/100

This Blanc de Blancs champagne is anything but flashy and it might take a moment switch onto its wavelength. However, it has excellent depth and finely etched contours on the medium-bodied palate, the Amalfi-lemon character building as it aerates in the glass. Beautiful balance at the very long, rather rich but very dry finish. From biodynamically grown grapes. Drink or hold. 93/100
