88 procent Merlot og 12 procent Cabernet Franc. Alkoholindholdet er 14,0 volumenprocent, og pH-værdien er 3,68. Et højt udbytte på 43 hektoliter pr. hektar. Merlot blev høstet den 18. september, Cabernet Franc den 2. oktober. Smagt efter Cheval Blanc er forskellen helt tydelig på grund af den høje andel af Merlot. De er næsten direkte naboer, og alligevel er vinen helt anderledes. Dette er virkelig Pomerol, dette er virkelig Merlot. Rige sorte kirsebær, brombær, endda søde morbær. Meget intens med rig lakrids, alt løber over i sort og blåt med tørret blåbærskind. En rig sky af duft fra Merlot'en, der i det hele taget kører meget på frugten. Fed, men ikke ubehagelig, snarere erotisk overvældende. Merlot i munden også: Sorte kirsebær, mørke blommer, morbær, jord, kalksten og lidt salt. En behagelig, eksplosivt frugtagtig fylde og overdådighed. Erotisk og meget legesyg - en meget velsmagende vin, dette er ren hedonisme. Frygtelig smuk og indtagende, Pomerol som den perfekte drømmevin, arketypisk. En virkelig mere end lækker La Conseillante - en sand fornøjelse! Den bedste nogensinde? For mig, ja, den bedste og mest velsmagende Conseillante i min karriere, lækker og smuk, nydelse uden samvittighedskvaler. *** La Conseillante har tolv hektar på dyb jord blandet med ler og jern. Vinstokkene er i gennemsnit godt 40 år gamle. La Conseillante ligger lige foran Château L'Évangile. Pétrus og andre følger i forlængelse heraf. Med andre ord det bedste terroir i centrum af Pomerol. Vieux Château Certan ligger et stenkast væk på den anden side. Dette er hjertet af appellationen. Efter fuldstændig afstilkning og spontan gæring i beton modnes vinene i klassiske barriques. 70 procent nyt træ, men nu også tre procent amforaer for at give fylde. Resten i brugte barriques.

One of the great wines of the vintage, and one that can rival its 2022 counterpart, the 2023 La Conseillante wafts from the glass with a strikingly floral bouquet of violets, lilac, raspberries, exotic spices, candied orange, pipe tobacco and rose petals. Medium to full-bodied, supple and fleshy, its textural attack segues into a layered and enveloping core of pure, vibrant fruit framed by sweet tannins and concluding with a long, precise finish. It's a blend of 88% Merlot and 12% Cabernet Franc, some 30% of which is maturing in amphorae. Harvest began on September 7, lasting until October 2, block by block.

Decanter om: Chateau La Conseillante

A clear stand out in 2023. Dark chocolate, bitter toast, blackcurrant, deep, dark and rich tones on the nose. This has both a vibrancy and a richness, a sense of Pomerol opulence, and a coolness on the nose. Supple and energetic, this has movement and weight, juicy with a touch of creaminess. Smooth and sophisticated but still with a hit of acidity on the back palate that lifts and raises the expression the whole way through. Great stuff, sleek, mineral - very saline with licks of wet stone, graphite and liquorice giving slightly bitter edges, but I love the construction. Serious but also fun. Sleek, not rich and fleshy at all, but there’s a thick silkiness to it, nothing harsh, nothing austere or too tart. Really excellent, sweet strawberry, crunchy cranberry and powdery strawberry - lots of brightness and powderiness so you get texture and tension. Another stellar wine from La Conseillante. Buzzy and tangy, maintaining flavour and focus also with great drinkability on offer. A vintage to age. 7.5% press wine.

Violets, black raspberries, spice, chocolate, truffle, and black cherries begin the perfume. The palate is where the wine shines, with its vibrant display of black with red fruits. The striking purity, elegance, and textures, silky tannins, and length leave quite an impression. The adage, "Patience is a virtue" is the key the success this year, as they needed to wait for the desired level of phenolic maturity. The wine blends 88% Merlot with 12% Cabernet Franc. 7.5% press wine. 14% ABV, 3.68 pH. The harvest took place September 7 - October 2. Drink from 2029-2060. 97-99 Pts.

(Pomerol; 88% Merlot; 12% Cabernet Franc; a final yield of 43 hl/ha with the only losses coming from desiccation of the fruit in September; pH 3.68; 14% alcohol; tasted at La Conseillante with Marielle Cazaux; it’s an incredible statistic that 1150 hours were used here to bring in the fruit from 11 hectares; a long maceration, explains Marielle, one of the longest). So beautifully redolent and expressive of La Conseillante – it could only be from here. This is a vintage in which the top Pomerols are profoundly terroir-accented, but none is more terroir-accented than La Conseillante. Walnuts. Blueberries. Violets. Irises. Cornflower. Black cherry. A little rose petal. Tasted after an intense rain shower, this is perhaps a little more closed than it would otherwise be, but that seems only to underline the utterly gracious aromatics. In the mouth, this is fleshy – rare in the vintage – and incredibly so. And with a lovely natural freshness. Fabulous intensity, great amplitude and so plush and full and rich on the palate. Many wines in this vintage have little up-flows, eddies and up-currants of delicate freshness; this has big Atlantic breakers of pulsating freshness. Sumptuous and succulent, ultra fresh and pure on the finish. This is lush, plush, sexy Pomerol with a great plume at the finish. The heart and soul of the plateau.

Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2023 La Conseillante pounces from the glass with playful scents of Morello cherries, wild blueberries, and juicy plums leading to fragrant suggestions of violets, dark chocolate, rosebud tea, and star anise. The medium-bodied palate is wonderfully elegant and graceful, with super-sleek kitten-soft tannins and spectacular tension that delivers an electric feel, although the finish purrs. 85% of this year's crop went in to the First Wine, a blend of 88% Merlot and 12% Cabernet Franc with pH 3.68.

Wow. What beauty, elegance and length in this young wine, with medium body and vivid, bright acidity that gives energy and greater length. The tannins are extremely fine-grained, with an endless, silky texture. Another al-dente wine with brilliance. Goes on for minutes. 88% merlot and 12% cabernet franc. 97–98/100
