Lobenberg: Und auf einmal gibt es neben dem Guru von Pintas und Poeiras großem Alvarinho noch einen großen Weißwein in Portugal, vielleicht sogar noch besser. Und wie alle Weine Alvaros unendlich balanciert und stilsicher. Und sich über viele Jahre Flaschenlager stetig verbessernd. Tolle Frische und Rasse, pikantes Zitronengras, mild öliger Gaumen voller Feinheit und Grazie, Birne, Apfel, Mango, Litschi und Kiwi, ein toller Tanz in feinster Harmonie und finessenreichem Finish. 95/100

-- Parker: The 2019 Primus Quinta da Pellada is a field blend of about 19 grapes from very old vines (71 years), mostly Encruzado and Bical, all aged for six months in well-used French 400-liter barrels (ranging from two to six years in age). It comes in at 13.1% alcohol. This will be released in February 2022. This is not exactly cheap, but if you are splurging, I'd say it is worth the extra $15 over the 2020 Late Release Encruzado (which also isn't cheap at $70). If you're comparing those upper-level whites, this probably wins, even if it gets even pricier. It's easily the most complete white in the group this issue, and it's likely the one with the best aging potential. Some six hours later, it was better. The extra year in bottle gives this a little help, to be sure, in terms of how it shows now. It is textured on the finish, precise and penetrating. Yet it is also perfectly balanced and harmonious. There's just a hint of oak. A beauty that combines a lingering finish with understated fruit and elegance, this is still unevolved. You can certainly drink it now, but it should age well and get better over the next couple of years. As it warmed up to near room temperature, it seemed even better. It can certainly become more expressive. Even now, though, every time I came back to it, it was a different and more developed wine. It just needs more nuance and complexity. That will come. 94/100
