-- Galloni: The 2018 Pluribus captures all of the savory, mineral intensity of this site on Spring Mountain. Searing tannins, once such a challenge here, are much more finessed than in the past. Crushed rocks, mint, blood orange, gravel, exotic spice and rose petal lend tremendous complexity as the Pluribus shows off its considerable allure. This taut, mountain Cabernet Sauvignon has so much to offer. Today, it is wonderfully complete and thrilling. Even so, the best is yet to come. 99/100

Suckling über: Pluribus

-- Suckling: Tight and focused, dusty tannins to this full-to medium-bodied red with a focal point in the palate that shows blackcurrants, conifer and dark earth. Chewy and tight. Long finish, but rather reserved now. Drink from 2025. 99/100

Parker über: Pluribus

-- Parker: From a vineyard located on Spring Mountain, the 2018 Pluribus (a barrel sample) reveals a deep garnet-purple. Youthfully reticent, it needs a fair bit of coaxing to reveal gorgeous notions of wild blueberries, ripe black plums and warm cassis plus hints of tilled earth, truffles, menthol and tobacco leaf. The full-bodied palate is densely packed with tightly wound black and blue fruit layers, supported by firm, grainy tannins and great tension, finishing very long with loads of earthy/savory sparks. 97-100/100

Jeb Dunnuck über: Pluribus

-- Jeb Dunnuck: Lastly, the 2018 Pluribus is one of the more overtly powerful wines in the lineup, which is common for this cuvée. Ample blue fruits, chocolate, chalky mineral, and violet notes define this youthful, unevolved, full-bodied beauty. It expands nicely on the palate, and despite its powerful, structured, concentrated style, it stays light on its feet and almost weightless. 97-100/100

-- Weingut: PLURIBUS An unusually temperate growing season allowed the vines to retain their vivid aromatics. Bloom was prolific, giving birth to a larger-than-average yield. While tasting grapes in early October to determine the moment of harvest, we felt that the moment was already upon us. We responded, harvesting the entire vineyard over three days.The hallmark aromas cover the full spectrum of resin, torrefaction, and dark berries, which transport one to the edge of the forest. The palate is quite exotic for such a young Pluribus, as the usual youthful energy has been complemented by layers of soft, supple tannins. It is as if time has simultaneously sped up and slowed down, allowing us to appreciate, in the same moment, the youth of the wine and the maturity of the vines.
