Heiner Lobenberg über:
Cornas 2017

/100

Lobenberg: Schwarz. 100/100

Suckling über: Cornas

-- Suckling: Plenty of sexy graphite and dark stony aromas cast across showy dark fruits seen here, all presented in a vibrant and seductive form. Plenty of spices and fragrant lift, too. The palate is astonishingly rich, layered and seamlessly complete. The tannins are dense, compressed and commanding, whereas the tension is entrancing. Flavors run from red to darker fruits. The finish is already long and majestic. Exceptional wine. Barrel sample. 98-99/100

International Wine Report über: Cornas

-- International Wine Report: The 2017 Cornas is an absolutely beautiful wine from Clape. This stunning wine begins with gorgeous aromas of black raspberries and dark cherries which come together with violets, spices, pepper, iron and grilled herbs all coming together in the glass. On the palate this is exudes class and refinement, along with a wonderful velvety texture. It continues to thoroughly impress as it displays remarkable overall balance and finesse along with incredible concentration and length. This is already utterly captivating in its youth, however it possesses the characteristics which indicate an incredibly long evolution ahead. This will ultimately become a special vintage for Clape. A selection of the domaine’s oldest vines. Aged 22 months in 6- to 12-HL foudres. 96/100

Jeb Dunnuck über: Cornas

-- Jeb Dunnuck: The older vine lots destined for the 2017 Cornas showed similarly yet had more mid-palate density, tannins, and length. I expect both these cuvées to come in similar to the 2016s once all is said and done. 95+/100

Galloni über: Cornas

-- Galloni: Saturated ruby color. Displays heady aromas of ripe blackberry, cherry liqueur, candied licorice and olive, plus a spicy nuance that builds as the wine opens up. At once weighty and energetic in style, offering densely packed black/blue fruit preserve flavors and hints of violet candy, allspice and smoky minerals. Finishes juicy and very long, with repeating spice, floral notes and steadily building tannins. 94-95/100
