Lobenberg: Godello als Manzanilla-Sherry mit Flor Vin de Paille aus dem Jura und etwas skincontact Godello. Wow! Der Hammer, wie kommt man auf so schräge Ideen? Naturwein +++ Und unglaublich unique. Salzig, mineralisch, chillischarf, alte Quitte mit Boskoop und scharfe Limette nebst Zitronengras. Als superber Kracher zum ersten Gang in Spanien, Anchovis, Sardellen, Sardinen und Belota, salzig alter Manchego und salzige grüne Oliven und Salzmandeln. Perfekt, großer Stoff, aber nicht jedermanns Sache! 97-98/100

-- Parker zu 2018: The nose of the 2018 Mengoba Las Botas starts off with some blurry aromas and feels a bit organic, taking some time to reveal the nutty, smoky and spicy 'flor' aromas that put it closer to something from Jura than from Jerez. After one year in foudre, part of the wine spent 10 months in ancient Sherry butts (botas) that contained 100 liters of wine from 2015 that marked it. It has the strict, dry and serious palate common to the whites here that make it serious and mineral. It has some notes in common with the white Brezo. It has lower alcohol than the other whites, 12.5%. 1,000 bottles were filled in March 2021. 93/100
