-- Suckling: The dried mango and papaya character of this great Saar riesling Auslese leaps out at you on the nose. Gigantic concentration on the very compact, medium- to full-bodied palate, with a breathtaking balance on the luscious and totally vibrant palate. Then comes the extremely refined finish, which has a remarkable delicacy for a wine of this category. Made from a mix of botrytis-affected and overripe grapes that dessicated on the vine. Enormous aging potential. Very limited production. Drink or hold.

-- Parker: The 2023 Rausch Auslese Gold Capsule (Auction) is a selection of single berries that were partly shriveled healthy, partly due to botrytis. The wine is clear and intense on the slightly herbal and saline nose. Dense and spicy on the palate, this is a concentrated, sweet, fresh and savory Auslese with an intense, lemon- and grapefruit-flavored finish. This sweetness of 121 grams per liter is uplifted and held in tension by a total acidity of 9.4 grams per liter. 8.5% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted at the domaine in August 2024 from AP 1 24.
